Taxus cuspidata
Japanese Yew
Height from soil: 20"
This tree was a gift from Rhona Meislik. It had been been part of the hedge row at the University of Michigan's Union and was torn out in 1986 during a re-landscaping. It was about 25 years old at the time it was collected. It is pictured in the fall 1996 issue of International Bonsai, where you can find an extensive story on yews as bonsai.
